Case Study: Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb

Problem

With thousands of climbers using the climb space daily and Sydney's hot humid summer months, Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb needed a cooling solution that was effective and quiet. Due to the historical and unqiue nature of the arches underneath the Harbour Bridge, a/c was not an practical solution. Health and Safety manager Simon Pikethley was concerned about ductwork ruining the aesthics and heritage value of the space. With two levels and over 1000 climbers suiting up in protective wear in these enclosed arches, Bridge Climb was looking for a natural cooling system, that would keep customers cool and match the historical and industrial nature of the space.

Solution

By installing both Big Ass Fans' Pivot and Powerfoil D overhead fan Bridge Climb was able to reduce the ever-increasing humidity of the space and provide fresh, cooling air to customers.

Results

For Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb, the fans have transformed the space by providing good air movement through out the space. Due to the quiet nature of the fans, the background noise has been significiantly reduced, which is extremely important when training customers on how to climb the bridge.
