Operating your Haiku fan is as simple as pressing a button on your remote. But its built-in brains — known as SenseME — and the intuitive Haiku app allow your Haiku smart fan to do so much more. Download the Haiku Home app, available for iOS and Android, and then follow these tips to get the most out of your Haiku fan.
Smarter Cooling mode lets you set an ideal room temperature — say, 70°F — and maintains that temperature by automatically speeding up your fan as the room gets warmer. You can activate it on your SenseME-equipped fan by opening the app, selecting the room, then clicking the book icon. From there, you just select “Smarter Cooling” and set your ideal temperature. Your fan will take care of the rest!
Haiku fans have built-in motion sensors that can automatically turn your fans on and off. It may seem small, but trust us: you’ll appreciate it when your hands are full.
First, open the Haiku app and click on the Haiku product whose sensor you’d like to turn on. Then, select the icon of the man in the bottom left. The next screen will let you easily turn the sensor on and off, as well as set how long the fan stays on when it doesn’t detect motion.
Take SenseME to the next level by tailoring it to your schedule. Every aspect of your fans — including motion sensing, Smarter Cooling, fan speed operation — can be scheduled. To start, open the app and select a room, then click the calendar icon at the bottom. Touch the “+” icon at the top to create a new event; select when you want the event to occur, what devices you’re using and what you want them to do. You can create as many events as you want: for example, one to turn on Smarter Cooling at 10 p.m. and another to turn it off at 8 a.m. Play around with it and find what works for you!
