Located on Hollywood Boulevard, just across the street from the Pantages Theatre, the Delphine French brasserie brings a breath of fresh air to the W Hollywood Hotel. Wrapped in cool blues and washed-out white, NYC-based group Zeff Designs wanted to create a breezy Mediterranean feel in the downtown hotel restaurant.
Designers used five 8-ft. diameter Isis® fans from Big Ass Fans as the functional centerpieces of barrel-vaulted illuminated alcoves. The fans circulate a smooth, silent ocean of air, working in conjunction with Delphine’s HVAC system to provide an energy-efficient method of cooling. According to Rachel Starunko of Zeff Designs, “the sleek silver fans were chosen for the aesthetic and visual impact they provide to the space, along with the accompanying air movement.” Silent operation is a small part of the engineering genius behind Isis. The proprietary direct-drive motor is purpose-built to run the fan, providing high torque at very low speeds without the acoustics of an industrial gearbox.
